“It was cold, but this is an important event for our consumers and our company,” explained Hill & Valley CEO, Scott Florence.  ”Diet and excercise are two important factors in controlling Type-2 diabetes for a lot of people and this event helps deliver that message in a very real – and practical – way.”

B&LPR has been working with Hill & Valley for the past three years to develop a tighter working relationship with the ADA and the event in Davenport helped underscore the importance of the relationship to employees, friends and families who might otherwise not see the connection.

“Hill & Valley management, sales and marketing personnel have been great at recognizing the strategic significance of their relationship with the ADA,” explained Mike Bawden, partner at B&LPR.  ”But an event like this helps drive the importance of that relationship throughout the organization and into the community in which we live.  Scott (Florence) is committed to making this walk an important event for the ADA and that’s good news for the community.”

The event was preceeded by radio appearances on local talk and morning shows as well as stories appearing in both metro papers.  The day of the event, additional media coverage was received including pieces on both NBC and ABC affliates:

The increased participation in the walk event should help the local chapter of the ADA to reach it’s fundraising goal of over $20,000.
